Podcasts & Guided Meditations ~ An Intro to Buddhism
If you have a long commute, or if conversation isn’t a requirement for work, listening to podcasts or audiobooks can establish the pace and tone of your day. In the mornings I reach for soothing voices discussing Buddhist concepts, such as living with radical kindness to ourselves and the world.
I usually find these messages from Talks and Guided Mediations by Tara Brach, Connie Chapman’s Awaken Radio, Krista Tippet’s On Being, and the range of hosts broadcasting on DharmaSeed.org. Even the podcast From the Heart: Conversations with Yoga Girl is a beautiful dive into the journey of personal awareness and discovery, Buddhist concepts that come from living in the moment and living true to your authentic self.
Pro Tip: Although not fundamentally a dialogue of spirituality, almost every guest on The Tim Ferriss Show has a daily meditation practice. Tim activates sincere discourse with some of the world’s biggest influencers, and its invaluable to hear people from Arnold Schwartzenegger, to Tony Robbins, to Tara Brach divulge on how impactful meditation was and continues to be in their lives.
I recommend searching through the descriptions of each episode and finding a talk that speaks to the needs of your soul. I guarantee that you will be surprisingly present and engrossed in the hour+ long discussions, gaining far more out of it than you could have expected.
